Editorial standards

How this publication sources its work, and what to do when we get something wrong.

Sourcing

Every researched piece carries a sources list. Where a claim comes from a report, a dataset or an interview, that is stated. Where it comes from our own reporting, that is stated too. We link out to primary sources rather than to coverage of them.

Salary data

Botswana compensation data is thin and inconsistent. We publish a figure only when we can name where it came from and when it was gathered, and both appear directly beneath the table rather than in a footnote. Our sources are job-board postings, published salary surveys, and TAJI reader surveys, and we say which one applies. We do not estimate, and we do not carry a range we cannot attribute.

Salary sections are dated. A guide whose figures are more than twelve months old is either updated or its salary section is removed.

Authorship

Every piece is signed. Author pages list relevant background, so a reader can judge whether the writer is in a position to know. Career guides additionally name a reviewer working in the field.

Corrections

Factual errors are corrected in place, and the piece records that it was updated. When a correction changes the substance of a piece, we say what changed. We do not silently rewrite published work.

To report an error, email hello@tajilearningstudio.com.

Independence and disclosure

TAJI is independent. Where a piece mentions a course, bootcamp or employer we have a relationship with, that relationship is disclosed in the piece. Recommendations are not sold, and no link on this site is a paid placement.

Artificial intelligence

Research and drafting tools may assist in production. Every published piece is written, checked and signed by a named person who is accountable for it. We do not publish unreviewed generated text.

Who is responsible

Editorial responsibility sits with Oratile Mogotsi, founder and editor. See About for the masthead.
